About us
Lok8 Infra is the real estate and infrastructure venture of the Lokmat Media Group, a legacy rooted in India’s freedom movement. Lokmat was founded in 1918 in Yavatmal by a group of freedom fighters and named by Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. In 1952, it was acquired by our founder, Late Shri Jawaharlal Darda, himself a freedom fighter.
Under his leadership, Lokmat grew into the most widely read Marathi newspaper, reaching over 2.18 crore readers, and expanded into Hindi (Lokmat Samachar), English (Lokmat Times), digital platforms, and a TV channel (IBN Lokmat).
Over the past three decades, the Promoters of Lokmat have also launched several not-for-profit educational initiatives — including state-board and CBSE schools, and colleges for engineering, science, commerce, law, and physical education — benefiting over 13,500 students annually.
With over five decades of experience in building residential complexes, office spaces, industrial plants, and educational campuses, we now bring this expertise and our legacy of trust and credibility to Lok8 Infra, with the vision of creating spaces that foster joyful living and lasting memories.
